Jeepers Creepers. (2001). Cert 18. Director - Victor Salva. Writer - Victor Salva. Starring - Justin Long & Gina Phillips.

Premise - Siblings Darryl (Justin Long) and Trish (Gina Phillips) are on their way home from their freshmen year at college. But the trip starts turning dangerous as they see a man in a trench coat and a hat that covers his face dumping something down a pipe. They recognize him as the man who tried to run them off the road earlier and go see what he dumped after he leaves, but what they discover is too terrifying for them. I got a headache watching this film. The main characters act in such a stupid manner that it completely spoils any potential enjoyment that could have been garnered from the movie. If you were driving along a deserted country road and saw someone throwing what looks like dead bodies down a hole would you go back for a look? No, and neither would any sane person, but that's what the two leads do in Jeepers Creepers. From that point on I didn't care what happened to them because they are so STUPID!!!!!!!!! The rest of the film plays out like a bad episode of The X-Files only without the sense that Mulder & Scully would bring to the plate. Instead we have two idiotic teenagers making one bad move after another. The girl even goes on about what not to do in a scary movie, then guess what. She does it anyway, ARGH!!!!!! The only thing saving this film from a lowly one star is a good ending. And believe you me, I was glad to see it. I also found out from IMDB that writer/director Victor Salva is a convicted child molester, that leaves an even worse taste in my mouth.

4/10 for Jeepers Creepers. Poster Quote - Avoid.
