Premise - The final Kevin Smith film to be based in th 'Clerk's' universe J&SBSB is about Jay and Bob going to Hollywood to try and stop a movie being made about their comic book alter ego's Bluntman & Chronic.

The plot however is incedental. It's merely an excuse to make a film stuffed to the gills with self referentional humour and cameos from your movie star friends. You could watch this thing 20 times and still miss some of the cameo's, movie references and self referentional material.

Perhaps the best are Matt Damon & Ben Affleck, who send themselves up brilliantly on the set off Good Will Hunting 2: Hunting Season.

J&SBSB is a damn funny film, however it suffers slightly from a gag overload. Whilst for the most part it is smart and funny it sometimes tries too hard and misses with a few of the jokes. The vast majority hit the mark though so don’t let that put you off.

Jason Mewes as Jay steals the show, until now his parts had been mere cameo's. However when given the space to breathe he show's some real comic timing, playing nicely off Silent Bob (Smith). Kevin Smith as silent Bob is also excellent, for the vast majority of the film he is mute and has a nice line in Chaplin style silent comedy.

The revelation here is Will Ferrell, I have only seen him in the deplorable 'Night At The Roxbury', but he is the source of many of the laughs and I will have to watch out for him when I go to see Zoolander tommorrow.

As good as it is, it is still Kevin Smith's second best film (Clerk's being first). It's unmissable if you are a movie geek and worth a look if your not.

8/10 for Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back.
